Not giving up

So I tried the swimming thing. I love to swim, but it's a pain in the butt to get to the pool. I have to drive 20 mins one way to get to the pool. I still have the foot pain, but I can't take it anymore. I am going to start running again. I'm going to take a ton of ibuprofen and suck it up. Will go to my foot doctor and say we need to figure this out better. I need my stress release back so running here I come. When Nathan goes down for his first nap, I'll be putting on the running shoes and run a mile. Will be the first run I've done in 3 months. So you can see how this is. Killing me. I've put back in all the weight I lost. Been in some serious depression. I'm taking back my life. I need this, my family needs me to do this. So watch out world here I come again. Baby steps though. Staying away from big hills though. Keep on moving people and take one day at a time. Peace out

Swimming

I did it. I swam a 1/2 mile yesterday. My arms felt like jello but I did it. Didn't go swimming today because Mike had the flu. I hope it's an only 24 hr bug. I pray I don't get it.

So back to my swimming. I enjoy this sport a ton. Growing up in Hawaii you live the water. I can't wait to get back in. I pray tomorrow I can go. But here is hoping I don't get sick. So I swam 500 free, 200 breast, and 100 back just kicking. It took me about a half hour to do. So what was thinking to get more if a leg workout, ( since I don't use my legs a lot in the free) is that I'm going to do a 1/2 mile just kicking. Because boy if you do the butterfly kick properly you get an awesome AB workout. So keep your figures cross for me that I can make it to the pool.

So I wanted to let you all know though. I may be a shoe wearing person for life. I have plantar fasciitis is both my feet and that toe pain in my right foot. But ever since my foot doctor put a high arch support in my shoe my right foot is so much happier. I am praying I'll be able to start running in February. I'll keep you all posted. Remember to take one day at a time and love your workout or you won't want to do.

PT

PT went well today. Foot not as sore. So I am happy. Going to start swimming tomorrow. I can't wait. My goal for tomorrow is to swim 32 laps of a length of 25 meters. So 1/2 mile swim. It is going to be awesome to workout again. So I got the ok to swim and bike. Decided going to buy a road bike now. My friend might have one that I can buy. So even better. Keep up the training for what ever you are training for and remember to take one day at a time

Things looking up

So my foot is a little sore from PT yesterday. I got my stretches and excerises. Going to try my best to follow everything.

The up side of this is I found a cheap way to swim. I'll be able to get some cardio in. I remember in high school the year I was on the swim team. Then did track I was a better runner. Swimming is a great way to work out.

Hit a big wall

So I have Sesamoiditis. Not a fun thing to have when you are a runner. Found out that my feet rotate in. Learning that I can't sit certain ways because that will keep my feet rotating in. Trying to keep positive. I hope if I do everything my PT and doctor say I'll be able to run in a month.

But on a happier note. It looks like I'll be able to go swimming. The Ft Collins pools offer an unlimited month fee. It's cheaper doing it that way then paying each time. Now just need to get a good swimming suit and some nice goggles. I'm so excited. Hopefully I can start this Saturday.

I hope all of your fitness goals for this year you can reach. Remember take one day at a time. You don't have to be the fastest or the best. Be your best that's all that matters.

Keep up the training

Fighting through the pain

Ever since I ran the Ragnar relay last September, I hurt my foot. It has been a struggle to get any workouts in. Been to the doctors a few times. Had to wear a boot for 2 weeks. The foot is slowly getting better. I have been walking to keep up my cardio. But I did it today, I was able to run 1 mile. I did it at a 12 min mile. It was less painful running then walking. But I'm not going to push it. Going to run every other day. I want to be able to run again and don't want to injury myself even more.

I have my goal set for my running. In May I'm going to be running a half marathon. I'm so excited. It's going to be the furthest I ever run. Come back and see my progress. I hope this will be a great working out year. Peace out my friends
